Become a Classroom Cougar!

Help us build a strong, connected school community by volunteering as a Classroom Cougar!

We’re looking for 1–2 Classroom Cougars (Room Parents) per homeroom to serve as a connection between the PTO and classroom families. This is a flexible role focused on keeping families informed, building community, and helping coordinate support for a few school-wide events throughout the year.

What Does a Classroom Cougar Do?

Keep Families Connected
Share important PTO updates, reminders, volunteer opportunities, and event information with your classroom families through email or Membership Toolkit Communities.

Build Classroom Community
Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment where families feel connected, informed, and encouraged to participate.

Coordinate Event Donations
Help organize your classroom’s contributions for a few fun PTO events and staff celebrations throughout the year, including:

• Trunk or Treat candy collection

• Fall and Spring Treat Towers for teachers and staff

• Staff Appreciation Week in May, including coordinating one day of treats or surprises for your classroom teacher and other staff members

What You Don’t Have to Do

There is no required classroom time for this role—although it's encouraged to connect with your teacher about opportunities to support in the classroom if you’re interested.

Time Commitment

The time commitment varies and most responsibilities are handled virtually through email or Membership Toolkit Communities.

And don’t worry—we’ll help along the way! The PTO will provide reminders, templates, information, and ideas throughout the year so you’ll always know what’s coming up and what’s needed.
